Do You Know Our Other Company?

Yes, you all may have seen our animations, scale models and renderings but have we ever mentioned that we are a sister company?

Global Technology Building Systems is owned by no other than Dave Van Doren. Growing up, David watched his father build homes, manage a lumberyard, and constantly work on various projects.David hit many big milestones throughout his teenage life. By the age of 17, David was strongly encouraged to start his own concrete contracting company to help meet the demands for sidewalks, driveways, patios, and porches. David graduated as valedictorian with a degree as a geologist.

David combined his love for construction and concrete with home building and soon he was building spec homes using precast (fractured fin) decorative concrete panels. Before long David was involved in several Architectural commercial projects with banks, churches, jails, etc. This was the inspiration that David needed to develop the “Waffle-Crete” panel, since the panels were light weight, precise, strong as a solid 8” thick wall, but easily delivered to remote sites. These panels only had the equivalent thickness of about 3 ½ inches of material.

This is where the company was formally known as Waffle-Crete The challenge was to develop form work/molds that were economical and accurate. After much experimenting with other materials, such as Fiberglass.Long story short, tooling was built and the Waffle-Crete molds were formed and used for basements and other projects including a 3 story all precast apartment building (walls and floor) finished in 1976. The phone began ringing off the hook with calls from builders all over the USA and Canada.Trough the years and on many projects. A main focus has been to provide safe and affordable housing at a rapid pace to help build and rebuild communities all over the world.

Dave and Rob have worked closely over the years to continue improving the systems. Their expertise in the industry is unmatched. Together, they have received much encouragement to continue with the new company name, Global Technology Building Systems. The company has over 40 years of successful use all over the world and in some of the most severe seismic and typhoon/hurricane areas of the globe. It has proven to be fast, economical, and durable.

Goodyear Recreation Campus

In 2018 Hunter Contracting Company-Goodyear located in Arizona proposed to create a recreation park. The purpose is to create a type of marketing tool to promote the proposed recreation park. Here you will see an animation that was completed this year in March.

The animation shows the details of what the park could possibly look like realistically. The animation also gives a bird’s eye fly through of the entire park, as well as any interior: for example the ping pong tables.

Here is the link to the final project.  The details range from the bathrooms, pool,to the parking lot. Enjoy!

Dusty, Scratched, Dirty…

You have a beautiful, custom-designed scale model from Global 3D Arts placed out in your business or home for all to see. Recently, you have taken the model out and realized that it has collected some dirt over the years.

Here are some hacks we have figured work best for a model to still look brand new.

If you have a tiny shop vacuum on hand, they will be fairly useful for cleaning. If you don’t and are not feeling inclined to purchase one, we recommend the following options! These are all smaller items and can be made specifically for cleaning a model.

The best option is a brush – we prefer to use a paint brush; the bristles are soft and smooth. This is so that any dust that is loose doesn’t get deep down into other areas where it can be hard to reach.

Next is compressed air, which is often used in an office setting. This gets into even smaller spaces that a brush can’t get through. You must be careful when using compressed air because it could move some landscaping or foliage that isn’t placed properly.

Once the dust is good and gone, it is time for liquid cleaners. Be aware that some chemicals can affect the paint or plastic of a model. Soap and water also does the trick – apply to a wash cloth to remove any excess dirt.  Then,  let the model air-dry and it will look as if it came straight from the shipping box.

We recommend models be cleaned monthly to help preserve them.

Real Estate Marketing Tools

In this recent project, we worked directly with the homeowner and real estate agent to create a visual representation to supplement their listing. We provided the clients with an overall site rendering and 3D floor plans of both the main residence and the guest house. In particular, they wanted to show possible structures and sports courts that could be added to the site. Our architectural visualization services are great marketing tools and very impressive to potential buyers.
Check out the listing for this beautiful home here!

Tradeshow Models

Here are a few models we have created recently to be used in trade shows. These models have lights, working components, and interactive features to help demonstrate the effectiveness of the product. They also include custom travel cases for easy and safe transportation.

Our clients have found our models to be extremely useful marketing tools at trade shows and events. If you you like to blow potential clients away at your next event, contact Global 3D Arts  to find out how we can help!  Contact us today!

Monochromatic Models

Here are a few models we have created recently. Both are very unique as they follow a neutral or monochromatic color scheme. The lack of color allows for more focus and attention to the details and provides a very modern look.

Photo Realistic Renderings

SE_feb10

We recently did some photo realistic renderings for a bank in Missouri. For this particular project, the client was changing the color of the stone work on the building and wanted to see what it would look like once the work was completed. Renderings are a great way to see the finished project and also a great way to compare different color/style options for a project.
