70 Years of Entertainment

On This Day: April 12, 1950 The first movie premiere was shown at The Fox Theater.
Balcony Views: Pictured is our scale model before The Fox was updated and remodeled. These changes have been made. The colors, carpet and decor give a more vintage feel to the building.
70 years ago, The Fox Theater was a place where movies were played and concerts were held. In 1950, The Fox was built mainly to be a 1,000 seat movie theater. The theater attracted Hays residents and people from the surrounding areas, and was also known for being a concert venue with a full stage that held many artists and performances.

Times Change: Here is our model of The Fox theater
The Fox Theater has recently changed owners and is now called The Uptown Fox, which has become a restaurant and lounge, which includes a cigar bar and lounge with top shelf alcohol and fine dining in the evenings. Our model (pictured above) shows the The Uptown Fox from different angles and levels of the building inside and out. The model shows the balcony, the entrance, the concert stage and other rooms and all floor levels. The historic building has been an outstanding part of the downtown Hays area. Cheers to 70 years!
